The rise of the $299 Wal-Mart laptop Quote: There's a new $299 laptop in vogue at stores--and it's not a Netbook.
These laptops sport big screens, optical drives, plenty of memory, and reasonable graphics horsepower. In other words, this is nothing like a $299 Netbook. More: | My System Specs |

It goes to show that the netbook isn't all it is cracked up to be. Saw one of these at our local Wal-Mart, and their not bad looking laptops. Better value for the dollar than a netbook. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion a4302f OS Win 7 Pro x64, VM Win XP, Win7 Pro Sandbox, Kubuntu 11 CPU AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 640 @ 3.0 Gbz Memory 12GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB, 2x2GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 4350 HD Graphics/Audio with 512MB Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays 1.
