Now, since I took it out, there's a section in the corner( where the TV will be when i'm done) that has no carpet. So, rather than re-carpet the whole living room, i'm making my own wood floor for the corner.
Just now got done cutting the last two pieces of 1x12's. Will work on staining it Friday, and hopefully it will be done and in on Saturday.
The one issues is that I have to re-route the satellite wires. They came in roughly 2 feet from where the digital box would be, and they didn't leave much play for some reason, so I have to drill another hole, closer to the floor somewhere behind where the TV will be.
The ceiling is a whole other animal. A little more complicated, but still not the end of the world. Just a lot of work.
EDIT: This pic gives you an idea of what i've been up to lately. The boards are just loose fit, sitting there for now. They will be stained dark, lacquered, and secured. There will be a stand and a 42" TV on it, so any quirks won't be noticed really.
