English is a wonderful language and it makes me as mad as hell when words are butchered like this.
For us linguists, such blends, or portmanteau words, or examples of lexical interlocking are treasure troves and an expression of linguistic creativity ;-) Others, of course, consider such a phenomenon as contributing to the butchery and degradation of the English language. There are many ways of looking at it. I could go on about concepts of hybridity, but everyone would be bored to tears
