Right, Some YouTube URLs are easy. But when I have to crop them front and reasr, then I usually have a problem.

I am more used to Vimeo where you only need to put in a number.

Simply click to position the cursor in front of the first character. Then, hold down the Shift key and press the Crsr Right key until all required characters are highlighted. Now use the Ctrl-C key combination to copy the characters to the clipboard. You may now paste the reference in the BB code as usual.

Nice trick, but I don't think it works if you also have to crop some of the end off. And it's at the end where I usually have trouble.

It does work!

For example, here is the middle part of this thread's URL captured by this method: 211923-cool.html#

Where did you crop it. I used a notepad.

I didn't crop it. I did what I described in my previous post, viz highlighted the required characters and then use the Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V key combinations to copy them from the address and paste them into the post. Are you sure that you are using Crsr Right and not End in combination with the Shift key?
