    Followup With Patients

I like to do a followup with users having problems every three weeks. I do this for two reasons; one is altruistic and the other is selfish. I like to make sure the people I am helping get the best possible help they can. I also like to clean my e-mail out every three weeks since I generally have 200+ e-mails for threads I am helping with.

I was wondering: Do other people have a similar strategy when helping people?

Well I don't. I think if the OP just post back I'm fixed and this is what did it. If I get two emails a day I'm upset. It should of only been one.

Actually, I meant I have 200+ threads that I am helping in and I have an e-mail for each one. After three weeks, I delete the e-mail pertaining to a particular thread after posting a followup post in that thread asking where the OP is with the troubleshooting steps. Figure if the OP does not respond at that point, there is no sense in the e-mail cluttering my e-mail box. Plus it gives the OP a chance to get more help if needed.

I just revisit the threads until its solved. Often others will help out in the same thread ensuring there is always resolution.
