I heard that about Windows VM - a scandal. I also use vBox on my desktop. Had no problems at all. But on my laptop I could not get it to work in vBox. I then installed it in a dual boot partition. Well, at least I now have both flavors.
But I like the vBox version a lot better. I have it running all day long and bring it up when I read about a new trick. With a dual boot that would be a lot more time consuming.
I have Ubuntu in the same vBox. That runs even better. It uses my full 22" screen. Win8 uses only a 16" screen on my 22" monitor. Any higher resolution does not work. There seems to be a general problem with the drivers
for the monitors. On my laptop I am also running with a generic driver
