I can fly! - true or false?

Man Successfully Flies With Custom-Built Bird Wings | Wired Science | Wired.com

Seems to have divided opinion as to whether this is real or faked - has gone to quite some trouble if it is faked.

Fake. It is very easy, with editing programs, to remove items from videos that you don't wish to have in the finished version. A human is too heavy to fly by himself (even if he is wearing a pair of wings that are as light as possible). He just hasn't got the energy to flap the wings (even if it is assisted by means of a motor), and he certainly hasn't got sufficient energy in order to be able to run at a sufficient speed to achieve lift-off velocity. Look closely at the video. You can see some tracks in the grass. Notice how a set seem to start at 0:45 (on the left, near the hedge), and how he seems to land over the tracks (1:01).

As a retired pilot, I can guarantee that this is fake. If I were somehow wrong, then this would have appeared in a far more authoritative source than a YouTube video.

EDIT: This is as close as we have gotten to man-powered flight:

I consumed about 1200mg of dextromethorphan (somewhere around 4-5 bottles of pills) when I was younger and believe me, I felt just like I was levitating. My rational mind knew that when I floated a few feet above my chair and began to slowly perform a barrel roll in mid-air wasn't real, but it definitely felt real, heh.

When I first saw this I just questioned how quickly the transition to flight came and also how little the wings appeared to be loaded initially but mainly how Jarno appeared to be so happy beforehand when most would be a little worried when there was some danger involved if it was truly real.
