If you never had issues, I guess you wouldn't be able to relate to the complaints. Supporting Vista in a business was challenging. The initial rollout was just a pain as drivers and third parties weren't ready. And as time went on, it just seemed that machines would have random unexplainable issues. Slow shutdowns, hangs during Windows update, etc. Fortunately, these issues seemed to have disappeared more or less with Windows 7.
My wife has a laptop with Windows Vista, and it's been fine.
