They are wound, but coated. So yes its due to that coating.
They feel different from other strings too because of it, in a good way.
I understood that they are wound, but was wondering if they are round wound, flat wound or half wound, as described in boobah's post? You probably don't know, since I have not found any strings that state the type, so I guess one would have to take a close look comparing one set to another.

Wow, 4 pages on guitar strings. Makes me appreciate my decision to NOT buy a Sleep Number bed as I felt I would never be able to really figure out the best # for me and would just keep trying different #'s and second guessing myself.

I only have one page, but then I guess you have set it to display less posts per page. You would probably only have one also, if all of the posts had been on topic.

Perhaps if you had asked questions about the bed, you wouldn't have to buy so many to get the right one.

The last time I checked, I think we threw all the tea in the harbor.

When I eat Chinese food , I like Oolong tea.

I've never been very fond of tea, because my dad liked it so much, that usually he kept every pitcher in the refrigerator full of it. The only tea that I rather liked was some hot tea that the Russians brought to us on the plane I was on, that they had forced down back in 1968, and kept us prisoners for a few days. Maybe that was because it was all that there was to drink, however I have tried to find something similar since. The closest that I've found is Earl Gray, but it isn't really the same.
