I used Augustine strings for my 6-string acoustic..

..usually buy a whole set when I restring my 12-string
sounds much better with a full set of new ones
- if I just change one or two, it goes out of "balance"

can't remember what type I've got at the moment, as
they were bought for me by a friend..

PS. my son uses Ernie Ball super-slinky's on his lectric..

I found that I was wrong about D'Addario not making a half wound string, however they are wound with stainless steel, unlike other strings. Is there any reason to avoid stainless steel?

Don't hold your breath. If I were able to emulate any guitarist, it would probably be Esteban, but that will never happen either.
