Are you satisfied with Windows 7?

I just made a thread on Eightforums about whether Windows 8 was bad or not:Do You think that Windows 8 is that bad? - Windows 8 Forums
I decided to make a thread here because I want to see what all of you think of Windows 7. All opinions are welcome. So, is Windows 7 bad or good in your opinion?

Personally, I was always reluctant to make the switch to 7 after learning of its memory usage, but had heard good things about its compatibility and stability after the Vista fiasco. The Viasco, if you will (feel free to use that quite frankly awesome word).

I stubbornly stuck with XP up until a year ago when an offer I couldn't refuse came along and I decided to dual-boot with 7. I experimented with it for a while but found myself using XP more, then one day I just started using 7. My first posts on this forum document my removal of XP just a couple of weeks ago, after not having used it for absolutely months, so you can guess my current opinions on 7.

Of course it still has its problems, but the only one that comes to mind right now, the one that annoys me the most, is the autoshow desktop button in the bottom right. I like having it there; it's useful, but I find that if I knock my mouse it inevitably always lands over that button, thus minimising all my windows I move it again :I
A minor gripe and all things considered, not the most tragic problem I could have with an operating system as complex as 7.

    tl;dr - I like Windows 7.

You can keep it from autopreviewing the desktop. Just right-click on the taskbar and select properties. Uncheck the checkbox that says "Use aero peek to preview the desktop"

yes i love windows 7. I had switched over from windows xp pro to windows 7 home premium and never looked back it was just much better and gave me more options with 64bit styled programs and the awesome new dx11 games. Although I still duo boot windows xp pro with windows 7 but find myself using windows 7 more often and win xp only when i have compatibly issues or say like a game runs alot better on xp like gta iv

As someone who used Windows from the Begining

Win7 has to be the best thus far XP was great but 7 Kicks xp butt

I think back then people got stuck on xp cause the interface and the boot time was pretty sick

Moving on from Vista to 7 I wasn't sorry I really can't say if windows 8 will be anygood from what i read so far WIN7 wins hands down to me

XP is good to have around to run older programs/games. I have a virtual machine with XP Pro in it so I can run older programs that I have like Palm Desktop which doesn't like Windows 7 X64, even in XP compatibility mode.

My first experience with personal computers was Windows 3.1 and of them all since then, Windows 7 is by far the best.

A vote of 91% so far indicates that most people agree. :)

Sea you know im one of the one's that said in other post remembering win 3.1 lol

Then 95 with the long windows sound lol .......

For those who never used windows from the jump consider yourself lucky it has come a long long way and personaly they got it just right with 7 with a little more tweeks i could see this os lasting for a long time

I just wish MS would focus on such a thing instead of thorwing new Os out there every three years the future would be endless if they could work there new structure into 7 insted of having to shell out more bucks for a most likly failure OS

I can just imagine the outcome with people touching screens and such and general lazyness people bring when it comes to electronics and technology I hope when they devolope 9 it goes back to almost the oldschool way of windows
