Windows 7: Image editors. Microsoft Paint good at anything?

I've used PaintShop Pro for many years.

Still using PSP 8, and it even still works on Win 8.

I already installed Paint.net and Gimp and another program called Free Image Editor. Today I'm gonna try them all. Just i have some movies to watch to first

Image Viewer with good UI ?
I'm looking for an alternative to the stock windows image viewer that has a good UI, the only one I found was Picasa but it doesn't have many features and I can't open more than one picture at the same time. I have also tried nexus image but its similar to picasa.

yesterday i scanned 4 pages from acrobat professional 8 by benq scanner 5000. the file size was 500kb. then i saved the 4 pages into jpeg format, with each file size of 150-200kb. then i opened the files in windows paint, and did some basic editing nothing major, when i saved the modified...

MS paint can't save different image format.
i edit pictures with ms paint and wanted to save it as jpg/png but it says save was interrupted and save was aborted..? i am using an old version of ms paint on window 7 (vista/xp mspaint) and no i dont wish to go try the new mspaint. i donno if this is related to the database but i remembered...
