Nice images! I think there is a big difference between low earth orbit images and high (geostationary) orbits.
I thought this pic from the space station over the south Island of New Zealand was photoshoped until I realized it was real. See how relatively low the space station is.

Believe it or not, postmen and women prefer the sort of layout shown in Picture 2. The streets are laid out in a grid, there are no long driveways to negotiate and no houses stuck out on a limb.

They can get their rounds done quicker and can therefore go home sooner.
