Has iOS 5 given you a problem on your iDevice?

iOS 5 seems to have made my iPod Touch's battery life worse and the performance isn't as good (but, in some cases, the performance is better). Sometimes when I unlock my device, I have to wait 5-15 seconds for it to respond.

you considered shutting down your open apps, your Ram might be taken up by apps that are running in the background, if they are closed then you may want to back up to icloud/itunes and restore from backup and see if that helps

I've tried all of that. I turned off most of icloiud and location based iads and tried doing a dfu restore and not restoring from backup. I downgraded my iPod touch to iOS 4.3.3 which is a lot better.

Nope, no issues for me. However, to speed up unlocking the device, disable auto-brightness. It adjusts the screen brightness every time you unlock and it takes a long time. With it disabled, it's faster.

I love iOS 5's notification system. It works great. Automatic iCloud backups are great also.

Yea, I never liked that feature in the first place. Anyway, I'm glad I jailbroke 4.3.3 a while back because if you so that, you will be able to downgrade to that version. my iPod Touch is running iOS 4.3.3 now which runs much better. iOS 5 needs a lot of ram, and the iPod Touch 4g only has 256 mb of ram.

You have the same device as me! :P. I've always debated about jailbreaking as it's not against the law or anything but it voids your warranty. Trust me, the 1 year warranty is good. Got my iPod in Dec 2010 and the home button half-broke in Aug 2011. It would only respond 50% of the time. The guy at the genius bar debated repairing it but as it was in its 1st year warranty, he just gave me a new one! Now I have another 1 year warranty on that device so it doesn't run out to Aug this year!

However, I will agree with you in saying iOS 5 is a RAM hog! The next gen of the iPod touch I hope will come with a decent amount of RAM.

I got my iPod Touch the year it came out, so my 1 year waranty is up, so I can jailbreak all I want I don't want to seem like I'm an android fanboy or anything, because I don't have an Android device lol.

Interesting.....never even thought about auto-brightness having any effect. Mine still unlocks pretty quickly though....if it ever gives me even a second of lag, I simply shut the Touch all the way off, and re-start it.

    Ha!

Yeah, auto-brightness takes a surprisingly long time to adjust, especially if you've just come from a dark room to the sunny outdoors.
