it'll be something to tell your kids in the future.
that must have been a decent view of the jubilee concert, i thought the projections on the palace were really good when madness played.
i probably got a better view of it on tv though.
still its a buzz being part of a big crowd at an event.
in the 80's i saw a few good concerts including u2 at wembly. not my fav band these days but in the 80's they were the band to see live. saw them at milton keynes also, 90,000 size crowd. mega buzz

The 2012 Olympics, a London / England event. There are very few "Union Jacks" in this part of the "United Kingdom" where I reside. Though I must admit my awe & pride when witnessing the Paralympics. These people whom have lost so much yet compete to the best of their abilities, it humbles me & shows me the power & resilience of the human spirit!

I'm really pissed because PayTV has 8 dedicated channels to the Olympics, so that means FTA coverage is going to be utter shite like the last games

(Used to have PayTV but got rid of it. All the shows kept getting in the way of the ads )

Wonder how the medal tally will be like. Also still rooting for the QWOP segment.

I think they did a great job and they seem to have got the right guy with Danny Boyle. Not all the music was to my taste but they covered a decent spread and had some nice touches to make it always interesting to watch. Had a smile on my face most of the time and they seemed to have the right number of kids involved to melt most hearts - very enjoyable and congrats all round for those involved!

I thought it was a great opening ceremony, the James Bond and the Queen section was great and as for the end and the lighting of the cauldron, that was pure genius.

I think it surprised everyone that in the end it wasn't a well known athlete who lit it but our up and coming youngsters, that was brilliant, as was the way the cauldron worked.

yeah i thought so too joan, it was quite symbolic ,previous Olympians handing over to the future Olympians.
i think the closing ceremony will be even more spectacular as it will be a celebration.

commiserations to the USA who got pipped at the post by one point in the Archery by the Italian team, it all rested on the very last arrow, it was 10 points to win or 9 to tie ,8 to lose.
unfortunately the Italian held his nerve and pulled it out the bag.
it was so close though, the arrow was on the line between 9 and 10 but as it was touching the line meant it was a ten.
    real gripping final,
    congrats Italy.

did anyone notice when there was an Amy Winehouse tune playing (Valerie), it got stopped abruptly, i thought that was poignant as was her career and life ended abruptly.
im sure that was a subtle intention.
