In my view, it's definitely time to move on.

The expensive way is to keep your old laptop with Windows XP just in case your withdrawal symptoms overwhelm you, and then buy a new laptop with Windows 7 on it. :)

As your laptop is a few years old it may not be able to run Windows 7 anyway so you should run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor first.

You can then make an informed choice, but I'm sure you'll be delighted with Windows 7.

If you can run Windows 7 and want to dual boot, check this tutorial.

If you decide to buy a new laptop with Windows 7 Professional on it, you can also use Microsoft's free XP Mode, which runs under a virtual PC.

You just need to man up and forget XP.

If you go 7 you will be in heaven.

If you want Windows 7 to look a little more like XP you can use Classic Shell. Welcome to Classic Shell

    info here...

Change Windows 7 Theme To Windows XP Luna Theme

you may need to patch your system to run a third party theme,

universal theme patcher is the one i use,
