Sun 4pm update

Big change in the projected path. Landfall just East of Panama City on Thursday but that could change as the models still aren't together.
Florida is getting lots of wind and rain as the bulk of the storm is North and East of the center.

I AM A LITTLE MORE CONFIDENT...BUT NOT COMPLETELY...THAT DEBBY IS NOT GOING TO TURN WESTWARD OVER THE GULF. HOWEVER...NEW OFFICIAL TRACK REMAINS A LOW-CONFIDENCE FORECAST.

Betty has not moved in the last few hours and is predicted to stay around for a few days with a possible slow drift to the North. Good news is dryer air is coming in from the West and having a disruptive effect on the storm. Most of the bad stuff is along the Florida coast and inland with high surf and winds. Lots of rain 12" and more and a bunch of tornadoes. High pressure ridge is blocking Betty from going inland but the high will move out in a few days allowing slow northward movement of Betty.

Mon 1pm update

Betty has started a slow move to the NE but maybe a week to go across Florida. Dry air and subsurface cooler water has weaken her.

Is George W. Bush still causing those hurricanes and steering them like he did in New Orleans?

Tues 4pm update

Debby is finally on the move and the eye has made landfall. The heavy rains are to the East and North of the eye and should be across Florida and into the Atlantic in 24-36 hrs. The strongest winds are to the Southeast and still pushing water into the Florida coast.

Northern Florida has received over 20" of rain and will get 4-5 more before Debby is done.

Rain for last hour.

Seeing as how you are in charge of storms this year, please keep them east of Louisiana so us folks in Texas and yourself do not get them. I still remember Ike in 2008.

Interesting new tool from NOAA. Put in your town and it shows all Hurricanes for 150 years in your area. The default range is 65mi but you can change that.
