Regarding your dam complaint

In December of 1997, as a result of an official complaint from a neighbour, a Michigan resident named Stephen Tvedten received a stern warning from the region's Department of Environmental Quality in the form of a letter — a letter in which he was given six weeks to remove two "unauthorized" and "hazardous" dams from the stream on his property, or else face prosecution. That letter, and the response from Tvedten on behalf of the beavers who built those dams, can, and should, be read below.

That was awesome.

You know, these days, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if there were real complaints about "natural" things like that.
As dumb as people seem to have gotten over the last decade, it wouldn't surprise me to hear of someone filing a noise complaint against someone because a woodpecker is making noise in one of their trees.
I've seen so many stupid things that are just unbelievable, it makes me want to throw up all over society.

That was brilliant Bill, and I agree with MWRed observations with regards the current state of things, it's getting ridiculous.

I wonder if the government ever sent anyone around to those dams, and if they stepped on any dam bear excrement.

Dam beavers have dam rights. It's under the grandfather laws. They were here first.

Maybe they can try to get Congress to honor the Beaver Dam treaty.
It worked out well for the American Indians.
