How do you catch a Snipe?

I have been trapped in the woods for over 3 weeks now and have been reserving my phones battery for emergencies only. I remember when I was younger my papa talked about Snipe Hunting and that they were rich in taste and also their fur can be used to repel mosquitos. If anyone could reply with an answer, it would help me greatly. I will report back to the Seven Forum for a reply every day after dawn. Peace be with you all.

I believe they live under houses. You should review the movie "Up" for detailed instructions on how to catch one.

Are we talking the same animal? I see snipe every day and never saw any fur.

And the paper bag and flashlight aren't really that important. A Guy

Lol its just funny watching the kids out here with flash lights and paper bags hunting for snipe at night. We told them flash lights scare the snipe. Even funnier.

Snipe hunting around here involves taking some unknowing guy out in the woods with a sack, some rope & a lot of beer. At some point, the guy gets the sack put over his head, gets his arms tied & is left in the middle of the woods to find his way home. At least that's how the Good Ol' boys do a snipe hunt around here.

There, you all know the secret. When someone invites you on a snipe hunt, just say "no thanks."

When I was a kid on Boy Scouts, we would always take the new guy "snipe hunting". He had the sack and flashlight and would be told to make noise. We would leave him and go back to camp as the poor sap yelled his lungs out until he finally came back, empty handed of course.
