The American remake cannot be compared with the original. In "americanizing" Top Gear it has lost all essentials that have made it so good.

Thanks Kari, I forgot how much my wife and I enjoyed watching Top Gear. We watched it when we had DirecTv, but fios doesn't carry it.

Loved when the express plowed through James last car at the switch and the looks on their faces.

I've had BBC America on my cable system for a long time. Never watched it as I expected it would be Masterpiece theater and such. Was going through channels after a lineup change and saw Star Trek TNG was on, so saved it to favorites. Then discovered Top Gear (I had only seen the American version). One of my favorite shows now. And since I had never seen it, all the reruns were new to me. A Guy
To the folks in the USA (or those that know how to make it appear that they are in the USA) the Netflix streaming service has quite a few of the older episodes of Top Gear seasons 1-18 available.

I could not agree more, Kari. The UK original group is unmatched. I have seen a few episodes of TG USA, and it simply does not compare.

I'm going to see if I can stream to our plasma, I already know I'm going to need a TV tuner card.

I actually liked the American version until I saw the original. It is indeed a pale comparison. A Guy

I'd still watch Top Gear USA instead of Honey Boo Boo, the Kartrashians, or any of the "Housewives" shows.
