ICit2lol thank you.
The .50 Ma Duce and the .338 Lapua are great rounds. I have shot a .338 but never a .50
Watch parts 2 and 3 with Sargent Hathcock. He was recommend for a Metal of Honor before and after he died. It's not going to happen when the work Sniper is involved. Sargent Hathcock had a bounty on his head. They say it was a Kings ransom. Sargent Hathcock saved many of Marines lives and others also. How many good hits he had we will never know. They have to be confirmed by others to count. Many of the places he went their were no good guys for witnesses.
I wonder how much better they could do their job if the used something like a Leupold 8 1/2 X 25.
Ok mate I will I did watch a Youtube on him for a I think it was a two to three day creep up on a Vietcong general dropped this bloke and still made it out alive - just amazing stuff.
My Dad was in the Royal Artillery during the war and he always fascinated me with gun dimensions, specs and statistics. Never fired a gun myself except for an air rifle but the mechanisms and practicalities behind using any weapons is fascinating science. Just like in that vid I sent who would have thought of the spin of the earth??
I have shot many. It's a hobby that I do now and again. I choose varmint hunting. Long shots at small varmints. It is a challenge. Where I live it's hard to find enough space to go anything over 500 yds safely. But when your target is the size of a milk carton it's no easy.
