The gate was open. No need to climb the fence.
Classic comedy routine done in many movies and TV shows going back to Buster Keaton.

The German GEMA has really strict policy and assets to control it. As an anti piracy advocate myself I find the principle is of course OK. It's just that sometimes it really is a PITA.

A good example: at home in Germany I subscribe to IPTV from my native Finland, the IPTV receiver directly connected to my TV as any other digital receiver. My subscription covers all 13 main Finnish OTA channels. But due copyright issues I am not able to watch anything live; instead the programs will be there for me to watch or download a few minutes after the show has finished. All programs from all channels are then there available for four weeks so I basically have no need to record.

This is OK when watching shows and movies etc. but really annoying for instance now next month when I, an ice-hockey enthusiast, want to watch the ice-hockey world cup. Not only do I have to wait that the game has finished but also it quite effectively stops my browsing so that I would not see the result of the game in my family members FB statuses or various news sites.
