Hi noobvious, your ultrasone - may be HFi 780 - looks good (post #872). Why not Sennheiser HD598? And does it need an amplifier in-between? ( Obvious noob, me)
Yes, it is an HFI-780. The amplifier helps with it because the player I am using there, which is about the size of a book of matches, doesn't have quite enough juice to really bring the headphones to their potential.
I would like to try an HD598 sometime.....I probably would like the way they sound, but they are more expensive. The only reason I was able to get the HFI-780 is that I have a friend who has probably 20 pairs of headphones, and he wasn't fond of them, so we worked out a trade.
