Thanks, Dennis. That's what this thread today has helped me realize.

But more importantly, thank you and Donna for your service as vets!

+2 Thanks for your service my friend.

Greg, I suspect that starting the social thing, and getting it going a bit, then an occasional update should suffice. I cannot fathom MS not recognizing you actually toiling in the trenches. I also believe Windows 7 will continue to be the majority OS for quite some time, and it will be vital to have good help as well.

I thought the idea of the award was as a recognition to the real experts in the community that spend countless hours of their own time helping others with Microsoft products and not advertising them.

Lets face it, if you ain't re-awarded then they've lost the plot with what an MVP is all about and it ain't worth having.
Ditto. After years of searching for answers on the net anyone can easily realize that the work MVPs provide can be trusted, very helpful for the user as well as MS.

I know the MS business model is going through some dramatic changes, but if they turn this program into another arm of the advertising department folks will eventually realize it, learning they can't trust an MVP's advice much more than any of the other crap out there on the net.

If w7 is neglected MS won't have near as much to stand on when it comes to garnering public support for their next real OS.

I'm going to finally get my e-mail sorted out, and unsubscribe to all the websites or services which I don't use anymore; so may be a while
