Kari - you handled the duties with grace and dignity, the trip and it's recounting itself a beautiful tribute.

Your mother has left a legacy in you and your siblings, and how you comport yourselves. That can be the finest tribute of all, to carry on as your mother taught you, by words and actions. A Guy

I join the others with wishing you lots of love at this sad time. Thank you for showing us your journey, you conducted yourself with dignity and I'm sure your Mother is very proud of you.

It was a shame that Angie couldn't accompany you on the difficult journey but I do hope her Mother is on the mend and I'm sure she was there in spirit giving her support.

Once again thank you for sharing this sad time with us as you know we are here for you to give you our love. :)

    Thanks, Joan.

I am not ashamed to admit that I, at the age of 53, was and am an utterly completely totally mama's boy. I love her more than I realized. Although I have not lived in Finland in more than 20 years we had almost daily contact. Weekly video chats, daily calls, I was her IT Help Desk remotely taking care of her computers. My mother was one of my closest friends.

I have always preferred to express my own thoughts with my own words instead of quoting or citing others but this time I found so beautiful words I could never express my feelings better. Please listen:

I have been walking Gracie as usual to-day.

Bad news: You know I said yesterday that dad is going to hospital to-day, well mum rung the hospital to see if they had a bed for him and they said no.

So it looks like he won't be going in to-day and Mum has to ring the hospital tomorrow morning and go on from there. I will keep you updated.
