Windows 7: Anyone watching the Mars rover landing?

I just missed the landing by a few minutes but the link below (first bit at least) seems to be what happened - great animation. Congrats all round for such a success - I had my doubts!

Glad to hear it was a successful landing. I was on Ascension Island for the "Eagle" landing on the moon and we tracked its landing. I also worked the Telemetry Network Support console at Goddard Space Flight Center for "ALSEP" (lunar explorer).

That was a great accomplishment to do what they did on planet Mars. It's too bad that we cannot accomplish and solve some of the problems we have on planet Earth.

2.5 billion would go a long way to solving some of the planets issues.

that said im fully in support of space exploration as there have been many breakthroughs ,inventions etc that have come around as a result.

Rubbish!!! 2.5 billion wouldn't even be enough to fund the committee that was trying to work out what needed solving.
