Cats usully berry their little presents. If you gave poop on your lawn you might be dealing with a skunk or raccon. Their is a vermit spray you can make using urne to scare them off. However my neirbour bought a lawn sprinkle with a motion detector that he claimed worked very well.
Also one of the dog barking sensors might work too.
