    I, too, saw and tried Windows 8 in 2012 and walked away somewhat disappointed. However, I wouldn't go so far as to call Windows 8 an abomination. Windows 8, IMO, looks to change my perception of a Windows OS and ultimately how I interact with it which, in and of itself, isn't a terrible thing. With enough time I'm sure I could discover the merits of Windows 8 though until I get my hands on Windows 8-friendly hardware (a la ASUS Vivo Tab, Samsung Ativ Tab, Microsoft Surface, etc.) it will remain relegated to VirtualBox.
