    Advice on gaming headset

Hello, everyone. Sorry to bother again with my questions with regards to which gaming headset should I choose from.

So, I am currently in search of a gaming headset which I will be only using maybe 6 to 10 hours per day depending on schedules. And I have been reading up a lot on headsets but there is too many to choose from and is wondering...

    - Does head size matter in headsets? I know it does but I am not sure about my head size and how 'well' the headset can fit properly

    - I am wearing spectacles now so should I be concern if the headset is really 'tight'? And does weight matters?

    - How well can the headset perform in terms of sound quality, etc? Because I'll be using it for gaming and listening to songs

    - I am willing to spend about USD$100 to USD$150 on a headset but am not sure what to go for, any brands or models that anyone would like to point out? Sorry and thanks.

There are some brands here which I believe is hard to find Singapore (country) like Astro and Turtle Beach.

    Please give recommendations, thanks.

Hi 1337, with headsets, I'd consider getting one that sits around the ear, I used to own a creative fatal1ty headset which sat on the ears and it didn't half give me intense pain, so around the ears is a must, sound quality is obviously the most important part of getting a new headset, what's the point in getting one with sub par sound quality, the headset I use is a Logitech G35, sits around the ear, I don't wear glasses but my partner does, she finds them quite comfortable, they are adjustable and fit any head, I think the only bad point is that the headset slides off easy if looking up and down, if you know anyone who has Logitech G35's or Logitech G930's then I'd ask if you can try them out, the sound quality is superior compared to previous headsets I've used, and the software simulated surround sound is accurate 99% of the time.

Check this one out from Razer... they make high quality PC peripherals and the one below is right within your budget

Thank you, MrNeeds for the feedback. Sadly, I don't have any friends that uses gaming headsets and the pain is that I can't try the headset on before I buy. I would really want to know about the 'fitting' since I wear glasses and how heavy it is. I am currently researching about the 'width' and weight on G35 and G930. Thank you for the recommendations.

Hello, Jemjem87, I would really want to try that brand out but as far as I can see, even on our IT mall, I can barely find Turtle Beach branding headset, would really want to see them selling in my country. Thanks anyway.

Thank you, boogieboy for the Razer recommendation but if I am not reading / seeing it wrongly, the ear-cups are using cotton type material, right? It is quite hot in my country here, averaging at 28 degrees Celsius so I think after pro-long wearing, I MIGHT be sweating hence, I think by getting a cotton type ear-cup will not be very idle. I want to turn my attention to leather type ear-cups. But still, thank you, I am also reading into other Razer products as well.

    So, I have been reading a several headsets now and some has really caught my eyes and they are but still requires some feedback;

1.) SteelSeries Siberia v2 Frost Blue Edition - I don't have a sound card in my system so does having their USB sound card thing enhance my experience? (If not, I think I'll just consider their normal edition since it offers more colours) I also understand that this is rather lightweight plus it is more 'extendible' comparing with the rest, yeah?

2.) Logitech G35 - So, like mentioned, I don't have any sound card in my system and will I still get the 7.1 pleasure on the headset (although I have never heard any 7.1 quality sound before) and base of user's experience, it kind of slides off when looking up or down so I am still hesitant about this one. However it fits my budget and is really good looking.

3.) Logitech G930 - Should I be concern whether is it wireless or wired? To me, it doesn't really matter since either way, I have to charge then use but safe the hassle of one wire on me... I don't know about this though.

Just needed some more feedback before I go grab it. It is a pity that cotton type headset doesn't turn me on since I'll be passing out from some good brands like Razer and Corsair headset.

Sorry for the long wall text and poor English.
    Thank you.

I have the G35, and I find them excellent. They are a tad heavy, but very comfortable. They come with 2 different detachable foam head supports. The mic is also very good and has really good noise cancelling plus if you fold it back it mutes automatically.
The headset is also easy to adjust, but as mentioned they could slip forward if you bent down to pick something up whilst wearing them. They have a really long usb cable which has a protective braiding surrounding the cable which makes it very durable.
You don't need a sound card as it's all built in.
You said that you don't have a sound card but, your spec shows the MSI Z77A-G45 which does have a sound card ?

Thank you, sir for the amazing feedback. I am sorry for not understanding exactly what a sound card is, I thought that it is an dedicated card which I have to slot on in my mainboard. My bad on that one.

However I am still struggling to choose between the Siberia v2 FBE or the G35 one. Need more feedbacks, thank you very much still.

I'd most probably go for the G35 tbh, mainly because the Surround sound is a big feature, the steel series doesn't have surround, and if you're going to be playing games and watching movies, this headset is fully supported. I've spent many hours walking around in skyrim listening to the ambient noises and people/animals/other creatures walking around me, it really is a treat.

Don't buy Razer. They're overpriced, overrated and unreliable. My mates' Megalodons burnt his bedsheets.

Thank you again, sir. The feedback from you is much appreciated. And, the G35 is also slightly cheaper than the v2 FBE I intend to get. I am going down to stores to see if I am able to have any chance of trying it before really purchasing it. Although, I really doubt it.

Thank you, MadSupra354 for the recommendation but unless I am reading it wrong but that headset doesn't come with 7.1 sound, right? It would really be a pity when I compare it with G35 though. It is still a beautiful headset, thanks.
