I'm waiting for Windows 7 SP2
Well, I'm not saying I use it a lot, but I think I can think of at least one concrete example where I use it from time to time.
And that is, I often put a lot of sticky notes on my desktop (it varies), and the show desktop hot spot allows me to quickly glance at them without closing all my open windows.
Aside from that, there are just those times (admittedly rare, but there are times) when I simply want to see what is on my desktop without closing all my open windows -- for example, whether or not certain icons or shortcuts are present.
Sometimes I use show desktop so that I can look at the calendar and/or clock gadgets (or even other gadgets like CPU utilization). Yes, I know the date and time is displayed in the lower right corner in the task bar, but it's small print, and sometimes I just prefer to look at the gadgets since they're bigger and more appealing to look at. :)
Bigmack.. YES it does help, when I mouse over that tiny sliver of the task bar.. if I click it, I can see my whole desktop in view for me to find a shortcut I need in a big hurry, such as my MWSnap program, which I use it to save or take a partial snap of my desktop or whatever.
If you have Windows 7 try it.Then when you have your program open, click the sliver again, it's gone,
go back to what you were doing. I hope I've made this clear.. sometimes I can muddy up the water... lol
just bought a new asus laptop and can get windows 8 upgrade for $14.99. not upgrading but ill buy it anyways
Urgent: This just in, Oct 26, 2012 has been canceled due to shift in Earth's orbit being too close to the Sun in July causing a fluctuation in our calendar. Oct 26th will be skipped and instead the day after the 25th will be the 27th.
Astronomers believe this was caused by the unusual passing by of a large asteroid field which won't appear again until the year 3128.
