We try to make sense of our world, because with understanding comes security and comfort. But what is most important is to find our own personal understanding, not one fed to us from another. See logic for what it is. If something doesn't make sense, don't let someone else explain it away in some obtuse manner. Things are what they are, straight up and sure. You just have to look honestly at it all and not deceive yourself into imagining it's something different, what others claim it to be no matter how ancient the affirmation. Shane seems to get that.
