Oh? So people are supposed to check here every hour or less 24/7 to make sure they don't miss a possible (seems more like probable) redirect? Some benefit! An expiring redirect that lasts at least 48 hours would make much more sense. Keep in mind, some people have lives and don't (or can't) homestead here.

Frankly, methinks you all are too anal about relocating threads. Of all the forums I've been on, this one has far more relocated threads than the others combined!

NOT complaining but I've had a couple of threads "disappear" completely in the last few days. I admit I posted two that were posted in the "wrong place" i.e. News instead of Security News but had 1 or 2 disappear completely. Love this place so I didn't say anything and in the end it really doesn't matter, just sayin.

MY suggestion for the problem is to SAVE the above link from your browser.. (your post page )
then post that link to yourself from your own mail account..

If your question is moved for good reasons.( .wrong forum area ) or it gets moved.. you'll be alerted .. etc.

Hope this is helpful.

In the quick links menu there are two options of "My Active threads" & "Threads I posted in" as well as on the default skin nav bar "My Posts" additionally your profile stats page you can find your posts from the "Find all posts" & "Find all threads".

We make it very easy to find threads so I see no need whatsoever to leave redirects littering the forums.

After I move a folders to a different place. Then later I search for a file name (from the start menu) and some of the results are wrong. They are where they used to be. So when clicked on they just give an error. Sometimes it lists them as 2 files, in the old and new places. Sometimes just...

moved a program, its files opened wrong, editing registry didn't help.
I had a program in a subfolder on my desktop, and I had set it as the default program for opening .PK3 and .WAD files, and then, like a total idiot, I moved the program to a different folder. The next time I tried to open a PK3, the "open with..." dialog box came up. I browsed for the new location...

Windows Recovery moved User Folder & deleted bookmarks
Hi All, I'm a computer clutz so I apologize if I'm explaining things poorly. I had to do a system restore to a prior point (two days ago) to fix a problem on a windows 7 dell PC. It worked but it moved all of my files and user profile to my C drive. I no longer see my user account...

I've installed my OS twice, deleted the wrong one, and low on space!
I have a dell studio 1555 with windows 7 64 bit. My intention was to completely wipe out the computer, and reinstall windows 7. Aparently I didn't know what I was doing. First off, it didn't wipe anything out. I only have two cd's that came with my computer... OS for windows 7 and the drivers cd....

Went through to Windows 7 installation, deleted wrong HDD volume..
I had all my files saved on the secondary Western Digital 160GB Sata HDD, it was listed first at the time... But I accidentally deleted the volume on it.. :( Is there a way to get those files back? I had photos, movies, music, some other important files. The whole reason for having them on that...

Item icons stay on desktop even after being deleted or moved.
I have an Acer Aspire as well as an HP Compaq Presario (both running Windows 7). Both have had this problem, though the HP only happens every now and then. Now, on the Acer when I save an image/file/folder/etc to the desktop and then decide to delete it, the content is deleted but the icon stays. I...
