I bought my first fishing boat, motor and trailer in the spring of 1983 and the whole package cost less than most of those computers.

Thanks for the walk down memory lane Bill!!

In 1983, I thought computers were just a fad... analog was where it's at. Oops!
I blame the misery of my previous Fortran class. Punchcards, trackpaper, and 2:00 am forays to the engineering building basement in search of computer time.

I have 2 IBM PCs and an XT in my collection as well as the TRS-80 Pocket computer (all still in working condition). I also had a Hayes 1200 SmartModem at one time.

Cool link - kind of brings back some memories even though it was a few years before my Tandy sx1000.

And - I need to remember not to hit zdnet in IE.

We've sure come a long way; I wonder what fantastical contraptions will be all the rage 30 years from now?
