Okay, Today 00.45 precisely i stopped smoking, i threw away the last of the tobacco in my tin and stuck on a nicotine patch before retiring to bed,
i have awoke without the craving to light up...yet!

the teenagers are still asleep so that will be the true test

i plan to keep the today thread updated with my progress as a means of forcing myself to stay on track, i feel positive about it and i can be stubborn and stick at things when i choose and am still T-total after 18years 5 months.

so expect carl like posts regarding smoking for the next few weeks.

Today i have not been smoking...
It's not an easy task to quit smoking, but it can be done.....good luck and be strong!

thanks three hours down and still going, i have had three hits of my nicotine spray so thats not bad, avg one per hour.

mind you the spray is so awful it puts you off wanting another in a hurry.
especially if you swallow it, just did , fek its vile

Keep it up Boo, hats off to you, I even smoked on patches although I've now been a non smoker this time for 4 years. It's hard going but well worth it.

Good Luck to you! I have given up trying to quit. Down to under a half pack a day now and thats about as far as I can make it. But considering I smoked 3 packs a day for many years I'm happy with it. Hope you make it all the way!

good luck Julian. you can do it. just keep at it. the patch will curb the cravings. also take B vitamins those help a lot. replace the physical habit with something else temporarily like chewing on a straw or gum.

If it gets too bad, you can go outside and freak out and spray other people in the eyes with the spray. the police will come and put you in jail and then you'll have no choice. you can't smoke at all

The spray made me choke, it's most the horrible taste, and chewing gum does really help :)

Good luck Jules. I won't even make any jokes. It would be great if you can quit. Good luck. A Guy
