Rain?

That's when water falls from the sky and then we can use it to cook, bathe and water our plants?

I remember that.

No rain here today.. just snow flurries this morning, it's still much too cold, 23 or so tonight,
a bit of a warm up tomorrow.
Joe I sure hope you all get much needed rain soon to help with the drought .

The water for my little community normally comes from a series of wells which are now dry for all practical purposes.

We are now getting our water from Lake Casitas which is 5 miles from my home.

The lake is down to 60% of it's capacity. These pictures might not mean much to you since you have never seen it but here we go.

It's a bit like Lake Mead which has dropped about 120' over a few years due to an extended drought.

Not funny!

I just got in after shovelling 8-10 inches of snow for about 2 hrs!

Ok, it is a bit funny

Since you extended an offer to visit, I've already booked travel.... I think I can find my way to Lake Casitas - that puts me within hiking distance, so I'll just walk around for a few hours and enjoy your weather. I've got my shades and I packed my shorts... I think I'm ready... I know I'm ready!

When I see a "flying fox", I know I'm getting close.

On the other hand.... we do have plenty of water. I propose a trade of some sorts.....

You can tell how much the lake has dropped by the old water line... that's fairly drastic.

Joe it's obvious you need a lot more water , for your lakes , streams to fill up to their normal range.
Snow would also help this , or don't your mountains drain down to your area and help as well ?

under the weather
I've been struck down with the man-flu....first my youngest daughter got it then my son and now me. High fevers, severe headaches for days and now cold/flu like symptoms, chest/nasal congestion and the list goes on. We've been bed ridden for a couple of days...which sucks. This has been spreading...

Weather App
Hi everyone, I'm looking for a weather app that will be quick and simple to open, that looks great and lets me have weather for multiple cities. Any suggestions? And something that doesn't hurt my eyes to look at is preferable, since a lot of weather programs are junk. :) AA
