    This is one of the DEW (Distant Early Warning) sites in Greenland where I was stationed as a medic in 1971. It often got to -50F!!!

    I understand that -50 is balmy in Siberia. The get up to -65C and when it is -30C, they put on short sleeve shirts.

    I remember one time the wind chill was -85F, however the foehn winds blew in overnight and when I woke up it was only -10F, and a group of us went outside in Tshirts ... for a very short period of time!

    They don't show it here but, we have snow starting just about now. Turning to freezing rain overnight, turning to all rain by mid-morning.
