    Gary,

Besides the weather channel, I knew what we were going to get when you posted on Sunday (I think). I figured "Man, that's gonna get here in about two days"

The wind was a-howlin' last night.

You know that you can't just hide your Christmas tree(s) under the snow - right... I mean the snow will melt.... really it will. We had near 60F yesterday - today started at 0 (good place to start I suppose)

The wolly mammoth should be ok

    Bill

I'm just waiting for the reports from the libs how global warming is causing the huge ice burgs in Antarctica that have those ship locked in and how global warming is causing the cold from the north pole coming south as it has. The scientist went there to prove the ice was melting because of global warming. Their seem to be more ice than expected.
    Should be interesting reading.

We didn't get up to 32F until about Noon today, Tuesday. 24F on Wednesday morning, with a warming trend.

I am less than 5 miles from the Gulf of Mexico.

Temperature low records have been broken all over the U.S.

I'm liberal, but I also have a science education. I don't like that some early 'global warming' data was deleted. The only thing that can mean is, they didn't want the data checked. But the Scientific Method is about reproducable results. Someone else has to look at the data and get the same results.

I recently saw mention of a scientist who stated he had been trying to tell other scientists that his theory was 30-40 years of warming, followed by 30-40 years of cooling. They ignored him, now he says this cold snap is part of what he predicted. More is on the way next winter.

I think it will be cold next winter.

Well I don't have any science degrees but I do wonder why we can't get a accurate forecast for 10 days. How are we going to get one 30 to 40 years in advance?

I'm no scientist either, but the quirky weather does and will fuel a "global warming" discussion I suppose. It's without merit I think, this has happened before and may happen again. I remember harsher winter from 60 years ago. Singling out a single cold winter to predict a 40 year trend is rubbish. I have only a degree in Real Life and Watching People.
