What gives with the password recognition system in the Windows 7 forums? I am now on the fifth password in less than a week even though I cut and paste from the passwprds sent to me by e-mail.

Are you perhaps forgetting them? I haven't heard of any password issues here before.

When you cut & paste, be careful not to also copy the space immediately after the last character of the password.

And to change it to "your" password when you get in!

Thanks for the replies folks:
1. I do not add a space at the end of the cut. In fact, every one of the new passwords I have been sent works the first time. The second time they do not work even if I type them in manually.
2. Over the period of time I have been using the Windows 7 Forums services (AT least seven years)I have changed my password at least three times and after a period of time I get the response that the system does not recognize it. In this latest case I have been using passwords mailed to me because when the system refused to recognize my latest password and I went in to change it, I entered the same password as I had been using. I got a message telling me the password was in use. Now, how my old password can be in use and not recognized beats me. In addition my e-mail address has remained unchanged for five years.

use your birthday with a capital letter and you`ll never get it wrong, and don`t ever copy and paste it.

I think you're missing the point: I don't get it wrong. I use the same password for almost everything that requires one.

I've asked one of the administrators to have a look at this.

I was referring to the Windows Forums in general. I also used it when I was running Vista and I note that many, if not all, the administrators are the same.

Hello Powell,

Usually when this happens, it's due to a corrupted cookie or cookies being turned off. Deleting your cookies, and trying to log in again may help.
