Ok well today I had to say goodbye to my old friend Athlon XP chip.
It was a machine I built in 2000 it was an Athlon XP 1800+ at 1.33Ghz, 1gig of DDR ram, A MSI K7T266Pro-RU Mobo ATI Radeon 32meg Dual 40gig Seagate drives and a 80 WD drive. It has run everyday for the last nine years and today I come home to see the power supply has fried it's self and the mobo. I really liked that machine it ran better then a lot of others I built guess it was its time.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your friend m8. Today-bye-bye.gif

Thanks man, scary thing is i never thought that machine would last this long for how much i beat on it. Guess it all comes down to if you pay good money for high quality parts you get your money wroth. I think i might keep the case and look for a new mobo, power supply and shoot will have to be ram and a pci ide controller since most boards now have SATA and one ide and i might as well use the old drives since i have them.

Sorry to hear of your loss DarkXeno you did well making it last. I lost 2 of my machines today, an XP and a WinME, my son-in-law has taken charge of them to play with in their shop, at least that makes a bit more space in what was my daughters bedroom, you still can't get in there though

Trouble is it's not junk though, there's a lot of furniture ready for when they get a bigger house, I will say though my son-in-law knows how to pack things in there
