Help understanding MCITP and MCSA Certifications

I'm having a little trouble understand what's going on with the MCITP certification changing over to the MCSA. I have searched the web, but have not found anything that explains my question(s).

I'm currently in college and have been studying Win Server 2008 AD(70-640), Network infrastructure (70-642), and Server Administrator (70-646).

what I would like to know is:
    1) Is their any point in taking these exams
    2) if I can still take them how long do I have before they are phased out
    3) or should I just wait for microsoft to come out with the study guides for the above exams

    thanks

Okay so I have come across the information I needed to answer my questions.

you can still take the three cert's. However, it is no longer called MCITP and is new called MCSA Server 2008. You have multiple options now to upgrade to Server 2012 or to start moving towards Cloud technology management.
