The ability to store light while keeping its quantum coherence properties (e.g., entanglement) plays an important role in quantum information science. It makes it possible to build quantum memories for light, which could become crucial elements in many quantum information processing schemes based on the use of photons, from quantum communication networks to quantum computing protocols.

The fact that we can now see through the "dust and debris" made by the big bang is exciting. Previously, we were only able to see about 250,000-500,000 years after the big bang because of the dust/debris/gas cloud. Well, it's a work in progress, but they have a workaround now

- There are presets. If your town is not on the list you can drag the map pointer to your chosen location.
- Click on the Advanced Options arrow to open it for more options.
- If you don't want to log your anonymous usage data, click on the check box at the bottom aside the Auto-Zoom check box.
- Once you click on the "Detonate" button it takes several seconds to calculate the estimated fatalities and estimated injuries.
There is also a 3D Sim. It can be reached by this link or at the top right of the 2D map: NUKEMAP3D by Alex Wellerstein
Settings are similar, one difference I found was in placing the location. Instead of dragging the pointer you had to drag google earth to your chosen location, then click on the "Place Target" button.
