Nice looking old cars.

Didn't get to see too may European cars when I was growing up, mostly the domestic "big iron."

My favorite family car was a 1959 Chevrolet Impala that we had in 1968 (I was 6 years old). To me, it was the Batmobile!

This car came from the days when Detroit did one-year-only cars. The 1958 and 1960 were very different from the 1959.

As I recall, our family car was in this same color (these are not my pictures).

I learned to drive in a 1972 Dodge Monaco (family car) in 1978 or thereabouts. It was like piloting an aircraft carrier. Constantly had planes trying to land on the hood (bonnet).

Ours was white with a white vinyl top. The headlamp doors were always open because mechanism was broken, a common fault.

My first car . . . 1949 Buick Roadmaster. Paid $50 for the car, about $500 for 6 months insurance. (I grew up in New York City.)
