What did that bloke get knighted for? Is he the one who used to swear about polititians and heads of state cos' if he is then I should be knighted too!!!!!!!!

i think it was his work to get the heads of countries to work at doing something about the famine that was happening at that time, and the incredible work he did to organize "live Aid " and the "band Aid" xmas charity song that still gets played each year .
plus as a result he became good friends with royalty.
