Me..... i don't have smartphone and using Nokia Xpressmusic from 2010, all because i use my money in upgrading the parts of my gaming pc. I'm more interested in buying stuff related to modification and upgrading of my pc rather than buy a fancy touchscreen smartphone and i don't regret it because i love doing it. Adding to it, i hate smartphones and tablets, but someday i know i will be buying one.
Unfair as it may seem it isn't just AT&T who play that game. When at home I definitely prefer landline.Cheaper , better ergonomically, still portable and better speaker phone capability when you need it.
I haven't been bitten but mobile data can be a real killer if you don't understand your contract. Once you get into International mobile roaming really watch out!
No smartphone for me. Have a Gophone account and don't even really want THAT! lol, for someone in my business I'm really an anomaly concerning phones. Hate talking on them and rarely if ever have it on my physical person.
I have neither a smart phone nor a dumb cell phone. When I am not at home I don't want to be bothered. In my home, I also uninstalled the answering machine. If someone wants to talk to me, they have to call when I am home.
My cell phone is as dumb as rocks; actually, dumber since it stays turned off until I actually need it. I got it strictly for emergencies. It makes and takes phone calls which is all I needed. It can also text but I found that too time consuming so I never use it. The last thing I need is a 24/7 electronic umbilical cord.
I've never needed, owned or even held a smartphone or cellphone in all my life.
In my living room is a rotary dial landline phone with a real bell, Caller ID and a microcassette-based answering machine. They all work great. Upstairs and in the kitchen are pushbutton Walmart phones that let me push "1" for English, and so on.
Why a landline? Dirt-cheap and rock-solid reliable Verizon DSL service.
I had a rotary phone which I dumped years ago. I had a magnificent Faber Castell slide rule many years ago starting out as an engineering student and dumped it!! - they still sell them but you have to buy them from Germany. I had a great valve radio as a kid I dumped.
My long winded message: I'm not suggesting you be a hoarder but don't get rid of treasures.
I hafta to have a smart phone ( iphone 4 ) if not, I would loose a lot of work opportunities.
