    it is a bit of a trick question i guess as there are a few solutions , as shown in previous threads.

    i dont know the correct answer, just what i think is correct. but others think their way is correct so its subjective.

    mjf & airbot are correct.

    The 'missing' 116 is what we in the UK call a "Red Herring" - not missing at all, just simply not listed. if it WAS listed, it would produce the number 68.
    Last digit is first, second digit is the sum of all 3. And 68 plus 11 = 79.
    Second Red Herring is the fact that 11 added to each preceding sum, gives the next whole number.

    Numerical serendipity!

    EDIT - thanks for the very funny cartoon, Boohbah!

    I'm going for a lie down now ...

    im going with either 68 (for factor of 11 ) or 69 (for my original post theory)
    as there is no 116 it cant be 79,
    its almost like an optical illusion your mind assumes there is a 116 therefore you add 22 by mistake

    wheres dwarf he knows !
    I'm here!

    The answer is 79, and here's the explanation. The first digit, 7, is the last number of the 3-digit number, and the second digit, 9, is the sum of all 3 numbers in the 3-digit number.

    117=79

    If you look at the tables everything to the right is added by 2

    and the last digit of the 100th is the root number
