issues with Intel Q965/Q963 chipset in Windows XP computer
I posted this here since it's not a Windows 7 issue.
I bought a Dell Optiplex 745 for cheap to run Windows XP on. I've found an issue with the Intel graphics properties- I can't access the OpenGL options whatsoever in display options. There's no advanced tab. This means I can't enable vsync and am getting screen tearing playing games on it.
I tried to update to Intel's most recent drivers for that graphics chip, which is a 965/Q963 GMA 3000 chipset. Intel's install package fails to work, says it's not made for that computer. I am apparently current on the video driver Dell offers. The only button option under Display Settings is aspect ratio.
I can't update to Intel's most recent drivers and I can't find the OpenGL options despite this card supposedly supporting it. What do I do to get into those options?
The monitor is a Vizio M220MV LCD television, I'm running through the VGA port. Right now I'm running at 1920 x 1080 at 60Hz. Coucl this be an issue with resolution and Hz? Would running at 75Hz solve this? I could step down to 1440 x 900 at 75Hz if it'll fix things.
