well, if they keep up with these asinine laws...

OT/> maybe/> being an owner of said big-a** TVs, and not living in that all to 'eco-friendly' state of CA, uh... sucks to be them?..

maybe we could saw of the entire state, and they can go 'chill' with Russia... or Guam
(depends whichever way they float, i imagine). that would cut the US' energy consumption *shrugs*

At least they'll have good computers to play with:
LANL's Roadrunner, LLL's upcoming Sequoia, and other neat stuff...

ASC's national laboratories collaborations with Russian Institutes

From all of the studying and such that I have done, I believe that the "dramatic" increase in power consumption of a plasma these days for the average family equates to about $20 in 1 year over an LCD. I recently was shopping for a new TV and did quite a bit of research. At the end of the day I went with a Panasonic Plasma as the extra energy cost was well worth the significant performance gains over comparably priced LCD sets. And to be honest, didn't notice 1 bit of difference in my energy bill over the LCD tv that the plasma was replacing.
