    Do we really need Twitter?

We hear so much lately of the trouble and distress caused by people abusing others on Twitter that I wonder if it is, in fact, more trouble then it is worth. I don't use it myself as I think it is a time waster but that is just my view and I know it is not shared by all! What's your view on it's value or otherwise?

Better question, do we need social media?

The media used to bash Facebook continuously, in my opinion, they've noticed Twitter has been gaining more popularity (in my opinion it's better than Facebook) and have decided to bash that instead.

I deactivated my Facebook account for around 6 months, and then reactivated it because my friend kept complaining about not being able post stuff to me. I only have Twitter too, to speak to people who I don't have phone numbers for, otherwise if I had their phone number then I wouldn't have Facebook or Twitter.

To be honest, I've rarely seen any hate posts directed at users on Twitter.

Actually, think about it in a wider sense, the media blamed films, then games, then Facebook and now Twitter? YouTube next?

I would imagine it depends on what generation you are from, I have never used it so my opinion would not be based on any facts but I think it's a waste of time.

I've been using it more and more recently, if used correctly it can be a great source of news.

I have a Twitter account but forget about it most of the time and only go once in a blue moon. I've got a Google + one as well and very rarely go there either. I do go to my Facebook account every day but don't very often post it's mainly just to see what family and friends are doing.

As bias as News networks are I suppose soon Twitter will be the only place to get honest news flashes or is it hear-say flashes :)
I personally don't use or have an account but it's nice it's there.

    Absolutely.

IMO, one of the, if not The best and fastest ways to access multiple News of any category. What I've used it for for years now.
