From an astronomical point of view i agree that natural events can happen although i'm still not sure if that planet or the earth wobble cycle of 26000 years that they also talk about can have any effect, but i guess it could be studied somehow as it gets closer.
I was referring more to the spiritual or religious meaning that many people put on this without any evidence at all, the whole story of end times or changes in conciousness, era of aquarius, etc is wishful thinking to say the least

lol.... & there's me trying to limit exposure to x64..

but now its here i may as well chuck in my penny's worth....lol

    2012.....

this event is the end of civilization as we know it, i hope its all false i really do, the last thought i want in my head is the thought my son wont get past his 4th birthday

but the evidence has stacked up from multiple sources.....not just the Mayans, but others like, Nostradamus, Gallielao, & jesus also ''warned'' us of this event, the problem is this event happens like clockwork, Nibiru or Planet x was believed to be responsible for wiping out the dinosaurs....

as Nibiru approaches on its irregular orbit around our sun every 2.500-3000 years the brown dwarf star & its ''own'' satalites (which Nibiru is one of) passes straight through the oort cloud (a vast belt of huge rocks on the edge of the solar system)

generally this ''mini solar system'' passes us uneventfully as it has been since the dawn of time.... but sometimes they collide, this is not really what worry's me & its also not what the Mayans refer to on dec 21 2012...

on 2012 there will be a double whammy for earth, as it passes through what the Mayans called ''the dark rift'' once every 25.000-26.000 years our planet moves through what scientists call ''the galactic plane'' this is an alignment between our planet & the black hole at the center of our galaxy, this is another ''clockwork'' event but unluckily for us between 2012 & 2015 both events will coincide....

while the effects of this event are only theoretical at this time, scientists believe a ''best'' case scenario (which means no meteorites & no tsunami's) as we pass through the rift it will flip the axis of the poles & take out every electrical component on earth

thats the best we can hope for..... why do you think there are so many D.U.M.B. facility's...???

an old book was found recently which is ''believed'' to be written by Nostradamus himself, the man who predicted 9/11, telling of 2012 as being ''the end of everything''

something WILL happen within this time period, you have to remember the human race is still in its infancy, where recorded history is concerned , these events were happening long before we were writing & will do long after were gone....

(the great flood & noah, is also thought to have been caused by a celestial event.)

& now im late for work...GRRRRR

So does that mean that the beta testing for the operating system after windows 7 will be a real short cycle? Got to release it before 2012?
At least the pricing structure may be sensible for once.

Windows Ultimate = 20 tins of beans.
Windows Buisness = 1 roll of paper
Windows Home = 5 tins of peaches.
Windows Basic = 2 rolls of toilet paper.

Btw, what effect could this Eris planet really cause, i mean it will be about as far as pluto and it is barely larger than pluto too so i don't see how that can cause any of those things but i'm just guessing.

Well, to analogize if I may: A Cannonball isn't nearly the size of a human being. Nor is a .30 calibre rifle bullet. But those two things have something in common with 'Eris' which make them exceedingly dangerous: Force = Mass x Acceleration

Hmmm.. Wiki says: 2,200 Kilometers in Diameter and 27% more massive than Pluto... Highly elliptic orbit means it should be moving rather quickly, though my cursory internet search doesn't give me a figure for that. Good thing astronomers have already calculated it won't hit us.

Of course, if we really want to put on our tinfoil hats, we can claim (true or not) that it has to pass through the Asteroid Belt... /tinfoilhat But that's OK - I live near~ish to New York City. And it's well known that the next world killing collision will hit Manhattan. I saw it in the movies a time or three, so it has to be true.

Maybe we could aim it at < Insert Public Figure Here >'s house!!!

Unless the cannonball or bullet hits anything i think we're safe

it also says that the orbital period is 557 years, so this has happend 554 years ago, and 557 years before that and so on, it doesn't seem to have caused any trouble those times, but i'm not sure if the orbit path changes over time though.

Existence as we currently understand it will end; and we, in this age, will be here to see it!
