FWIW: I deleted my original PayPal acct as I got worried about PayPal and access to my checking acct. After deletion, I then re-applied with only a credit card and I have had no problem. I also make sure that when I pay via PayPal, I check to make sure that they can't do a recurring charge, like some software companies like to do...
